Who we are

MacTech Gear operates mactechgear.ca. Questions about this policy: privacy@mactechgear.ca.

When you buy on MacTech Gear

Checkout runs through Stripe. We receive your name, email, shipping address, and payment confirmation so we can fulfill your order and send receipts. We do not store your full card number on our servers — Stripe handles payment details.

When you start a return

If you submit a return request on a direct MacTech order, we collect your email, order reference, reason, and a verification photo so we can review your request. That information is used only to process returns.

Website analytics

We use a lightweight, first-party analytics system to understand how people use our site — for example which pages are viewed and how many visitors we have today. We do not use Google Analytics or ad-network trackers on mactechgear.ca.

What we collect for analytics:

• An anonymous session identifier stored in your browser for that visit (not your name or email)
• The page path you view (for example / or /about)
• When you click a “Buy on Amazon” or “Buy on MacTech” shop button (same anonymous session — we count outbound shop clicks, not what you do after you leave our site)
• Basic request metadata our server already sees (such as browser type and approximate region from your IP — we do not use this to identify you personally)

Why: to improve the site and see traffic in our private owner dashboard. We do not sell this data. Analytics records are kept for up to 90 days, then removed or aggregated.

Cookies & storage

We do not use advertising cookies. Analytics uses session storage in your browser for the anonymous session id during your visit. Stripe may set cookies during checkout on their hosted payment page.

Your choices

You can block analytics by using a browser that clears session storage or privacy tools — the shop and checkout still work. For order or return data, contact us at privacy@mactechgear.ca.
